Usain Bolt returns home
September 9, 2008
Triple Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt returned home to Jamaica after closing out the 2008 athletics season with a victory at the Rieti Grand Prix in Italy. The intermitent showers that were affecting the island did nothing to dampen the spirit of hundreds of Jamaicans who gathered at the Norman Manley International Airport and the thousands more who lined the streets of Kingston to welcome home the fastest man alive Usain Bolt who makes us all proud to be Jamaican.

Usain Bolt was greeted by goverment and opposition officials, the press and enthusiatic airport workers and members of the public on the tarmac of the Norman Manley Internation Airport
Plans for a 9 day celebration to recognize the achievements of all our athletes at the 2008 beijing Olympics are being finalized and events covering the entire island are expected to begin on October 3rd, 2008. Jamaicapage.com will provide information and coverage on these events when they are announced.

He was not keen on breaking or setting records, he was keen on earning a medal for Jamaica and he did so in the finest style ever! We hail you Usian and my prayer is that you remain humble, seek God and walk right. You have done yourslef and your nation proud.
