The Jamaica National Bicentenary Arrival Point Monument Design Competition

The Institute of Jamaica is having a monument design competition to the bicentenary of the arrival of slaves from Africa to the shores of Jamaica. The competition started on February 24th and runs until March 24th. There are 10 entries in the monument design competition and they are listed below as well as with the numbers to call to vote for the monument you like.

To vote text the monument number to (1876)444-2450 Cost per entry/text message – JMD$10.00 (1 vote per entry) Competition starts February 24 and ends March 24, 2008.

    I like #1 because it shows how Africa and Jamaica are intrinsically linked.

    Unfortunately, I do not like the title which I think should indicate the important point – regaining our freedom (FREEDOM REGAINED).

    “Exalted Euphoria” is pretty to look at but the eagle is now an accepted symbol of U.S.A.!!
