Shelly-Ann Fraser returns home

The first Jamaican woman to win the Olympic 100m sprint at the olympics, Shelly-Ann Fraser return to Jamaica yesterday to a massive reception just after 6p.m. yesterday. Fraser’s time of 10.78 seconds was the second fastest 100m clocking ever by a Jamaican woman behind Merlene Ottey’s national record of 10.74 seconds.

Sports Minister Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange, member of Parliament Anthony Hylton, representatives of the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) and Jamaica Athletics Association (JAAA) were on hand to welcome Fraser and Markino Buckley, a finalist in the men’s 400m hurdles.
