Made in Jamaica Film to be Highlighted in New York

The 16th annual African Diaspora Film Festival began in New York on November 28 and will run through to December 16. The critically acclaimed “Made in Jamaica” film by French filmmaker Jerome Laperouz will be a special presentation at the festival.
About the Film
The film explores the roots of Jamaican music and how a small Caribbean island could create a world renowned music genre enjoyed by millions worldwide. The film follows different generations of musicians from the pioneers who started the movement in the early 1970′s to the current generation and evolution of Jamaican music, mainly Reggae and Dancehall.
The film will be screened five times over two days exclusively at the Thalia Theatre (Symphony Space), 2537 Broadway, 95th Street, Manhattan. Show dates and times are Sunday, December 14 at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and on Tuesday, December 16, at 3:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.
