Jamaica Events Schedule at Beijing Olympics

August 8, 2008

The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in China will be the biggest and maybe even best Olympic games ever as over 10 thousand athletes compete over 300 events in in 28 sports. It will be quite difficult to keep track of all the happenings related to the Jamaica team while they compete in Beijing and so Jamaicapage.com has prepared the following page that highlights the Jamaican athletes, events, times and dates they will be competing. We hope you find this resource useful while cheering on Team Jamaica.

Equestrian Competition

Samantha Albert will be Jamaica’s first ever competitor an Olympic Games event. She has created a website where she has posted information about herself and the Equestrian sport. She also frequently updates the site on the happenings in Beijing. We invite our visitors to visit her site at Samamthaalbert.com for updates on her progress in the Equestrian competitions in Beijing.

These charts were constructed using information from the Official Beijing Olympics Website and the Jamaica Olympic Associated Website.

You seem to be the only Jamaican site with a complete list of Jamaican competitors, their event and schedule all on one page (http://www.jamaicapage.com/jamaica-events-schedule-beijing-olympics/). It is great for us in the diaspora – keep up the good work – I will be watching your coverage.

  2. Karen on August 9th, 2008 12:27 am

Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is really helpful. Will revisit your site for coverage. Again, thank you.

  3. Team Jamaica Fan on August 10th, 2008 10:23 am

This is the 3/4 of a very helpful spreadsheet, however, I’d love to cheer for team Jamaica, not just the Jamaican athletics team. Could you please please please add all the other events Jamaica will participate in (eg swimming and equestrian).
    Thank you!!

  4. Kelroy Brown on August 10th, 2008 2:46 pm

@ Team Jamaica fan – please accept for apologies for not adding the schedule for the other events sooner. They were being prepared and this entry has been updated with all the events that members of the Jamaica Olympic Team are participating in.

  5. Kurt on August 11th, 2008 2:51 am

    THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!

THIS IS THE ONLY WEBSITE I CAN FIND WITH ALL THE JAMAICAN GAMES..
BEING IN ANOTHER COUNTRY ITS HARD TO FIND THE JAMAICANS IN ACTION, BCOZ THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THEIR ATHLETES SO THIS IS REALLY HELPFUL….. GO TEAM JAMAICA

  8. PAUL LEWIN on August 12th, 2008 2:12 pm

We can improve on our medal tally in the future by participating in other games such as :

    1) Volleyball
    2) Rowing
    3) Handball

  9. syneth perkins on August 12th, 2008 3:10 pm

I am really happy we have a website to see our country team (Jamaica) do their best
and it will definitely be their best no matter the outcome. But I know like myself
there are others who know we’ll do greaaaaat. Thanks a whole lot.
    “GO JAMDUNG” yeah.

There is an error on your web page for Fridays Track and Field events for the last three events listed. They should be on Saturday per other schedules.

    Thank for the schedule.

Track and Field events schedule has Fri 23 Aug and also Fri 22 Aug.

Should the 3 events on Fri 23 Aug be on the Saturday??

  19. Winston on August 21st, 2008 2:16 pm

Man we are top of the Athletics official Medals Table.

See what happens when you take the drugs out of sport,.
Suddenly the US are just another team with a pile of 2nd rate Jamaicans waving US flags, Who will soon be forgotten.
