Denbigh Agri-Industrial Show 2008
July 30, 2008
The 2008 staging of the annual Denbigh Agricultural and Industrial Show will be held August 1-3 during the Emancipation Day weekend, under the theme, ‘Grow What We Eat, Eat What We Grow’. Over 30 million dollars has been raised for this year’s staging of the event from the Government and private sector interests like Digicel, Motor Sales and Service and Jamaica Broilers.

In the promotion of the best in agriculture, the show features outstanding livestock, agricultural and horticultural exhibits from all fourteen parishes in Jamaica. The show also features various competitions and attractions in the form of the National Champion Farmer Competition, the National Young Farmer Competition and the National Farm Queen Competition just to name a few.

I am very disappointed in the publicizing of the Farm Queen competition. The queens are not being highlighted as the festival queens are. This is very embarrassing as both competitions are set at targeting basically the say caliber girls. Why is it that the winner of the festival queen competition gets to walk away with a car and the farm queen does not? I t is very sad, the organizers of this competition are not doing enough to make this event fit for a queen or for it to be recognized nationally. Hope no one was offended i am just ’speaking my mind’
Thank you.
COULD YOU GIVE ME A CONTACT NUMBER FOR THE PEOPLE WHO MANUFACTURE THE FOAM HOUSES,
THEY WERE ON DISPLAY AT HTE SHOW.
